VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Nuloom Rugs has reached a partnership agreement with outdoor furniture specialist Agio-USA, with Nuloom rugs to be sold through Agio’s sales and distribution network.
Agio-USA wanted to find a company at the top of the field in the category, according to company officials. New York-based Nuloom, which is primarily focused on online sales for its rugs, will now gain entrée into bricks-and-mortar furniture stores through the new relationship with Agio-USA and its sales representatives.
“With the growing popularity of the outdoor room, we’ve seen the need for more accessory items,” said Andy Sokol, Agio’s vice president of sales/furniture stores. “Outdoor rugs add color as an accessory to your outdoor furniture collection, makes for a nicer looking living space, and provides the practical benefit of having a rug under your feet in the walk area.”
For the stores, it is an easy way to add to the ticket and the rug doesn’t require additional floor space, he said.
Agio-USA is working with Nuloom to coordinate designs that complement outdoor furniture trends and styles. By providing examples of complementary rugs on display in their showrooms, outdoor furniture retailers can show how to accessorize their collections, officials said.
According to Sokol, Agio-USA offers larger retailers a customized program to match an outdoor furniture collection with a Nuloom rug that creates a furniture group that only one retailer will have. Direct container programs are also available in addition to the domestic program.
“We’ve found a very good company with a lot of experience in the rug business to partner with us in this program,” he said. “We are excited about this opportunity.”
